What you had to say about new Coventry cat cafe

- By ELIS SANDFORD News Reporter elis.sandford@reacxhplc.com

COVENTRY’S brand new cat cafe opened its doors for the first time last week - and while some think it’s the purrrfect addition to the city, others have got their claws out.

For many, The Cat Lounge offers something a little different for feline fans.

But some worry for the welfare of the cats.

Hundreds of comments were posted on CoventryLive’s social media channels after we took a look around the cafe last week.

What you had to say... On the plus side...

Mary Morris said: “I didn’t realise the cats actually lived there. I’m not a cat person but I can imagine for people who are unable to have a pet/ cat of their own this could be a very pleasant experience.”

Alison Broomfield said: “A wonderful idea for cat lovers, myself included. Love cats.”

Gloria James said: “I had a little look today and inside it’s lovely the cats are so relaxed and chilled they are beautiful. I wish them good luck, lovely idea.”

Magdalena Alicja said: “I’ve been there today. A very nice place indeed, adorable cats clearly happy and totally free to do as they please, the owner and his daughter ever so nice. Overall truly cute and relaxing experience.”

Pam Wells said: “I went to the one in Edinburgh.

It’s a lovely idea especially for anyone who loves cats.”

Jo Berry said: “Went on Saturday. It’s lovely and modern and clean, the staff were friendly, cake was yummy and the cats were gorgeous.”

On the flipside... Joanne Harper Oldbury said: “I bet the cats love being mauled by strangers all day.”

Paula Singleton said: “Shame they are charging just to go in. I can sit at home for free with me cats.”

Gary Edmunds said: “Not long now till another empty shop and failed business I fear initial excitement followed by emptiness.”

Ryan Wallace said: “Latte with a side of hairball please.”
