COVENTRY City will secure a return to the Championship this season.

That’s according to the League One predicted table, which has the Sky Blues at the top of the pile after 46 games.

Mark Robins’ men are currently fifth in League One, but should they win their two games in-hand over leaders Rotherham United, they will ascend to the top of the pile.

According to the predicted table, that’s where they will end up, winning League One by three clear points, ahead of currently leaders Rotherham with 84 points.

The Millers will also enjoy a relatively comfortable ascent, if the predicted standings are to be believed, finishing with a fivepoint lead over Ipswich Town.

Ipswich are tipped to be joined in the playoffs by Peterborough, Oxford United and Portsmouth, with Doncaster and Wycombe narrowly missing out, as well as Sunderland and Burton.

Southend are currently on course to finish bottom, according to the prediction, going down with Bolton and Tranmere.

The table is predicted by Football Web Pages, who use an algorithm influenced by form to predict every result between now and the end of the season.

According to the prediction, the Sky Blues will continue their promotion charge with a 2-0 win over Bolton this weekend.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth could be without striker Oli Hawkins for their clash with Coventry City.

The Sky Blues welcome Pompey to St Andrew’s on Tuesday night with both sides in the League One top six.

Coventry are currently fifth with two games in-hand over leaders Rotherham United, while Portsmouth are just one point worse off having played the same amount of games.

The proximity of the two teams in the League One table makes the game a key fixture.

Portsmouth will be desperate to climb above their promotion rivals, but they won’t be helped by the possible absence of frontman Hawkins.

“Oli Hawkins came off in the week at Exeter with concussion,” said Pompey boss Kenny Jackett. “We’ll see how he is over the weekend. There is a rule with head injuries and concussion which we have to respect.”

Hawkins has only made eight appearances in all competitions this season, but he has been a key member of the squad since arriving in 2017, scoring 14 times in 75 league outings.

City have reduced their ticket prices for the clash with Portsmouth.

Tickets have been reduced to £15 for adults, £10 concessions and £5 under 18s for the game.

The club have also removed booking fees and there will be no matchday increase for pay on the day tickets.

Tickets are available from the club’s e-ticketing website, at the ticket office, as well as being available on the day.

City’s biggest home attendance in the league at St Andrew’s this season is 8,085, which came against Ipswich Town in December.

With a sizable following from Portsmouth, who have sold out their away allocation of 1,200 – coupled with the price reductions for home fans – the Sky Blues will have a good chance of beating that come Tuesday.

We’ll see how he is over the weekend. There is a rule with head injuries and concussion which we have to respect. Kenny Jackett
