VIEWS are needed on £51m plans to upgrade Nuneaton and Bedworth’s biggest leisure centres - and create a new one in Weddington.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has said that public views count when it comes to the huge proposals, which will change the face of the borough’s biggest leisure facilities.

They include replacing Bedworth Leisure Centre, to either extend or rebuild the Pingles Leisure Centre and to create a new activity hub at Top Farm.

But a public consultation is now being held to see if the plans are what people in Nuneaton and Bedworth want.

Councillor Julie Jackson, Town Hall leader, said:”We are very much looking forward to hearing the views of our residents on the proposals, these are extremely exciting times and we really want our residents to get involved and tell us what they want for the future of their town centres, leisure facilities and parks.”

Cllr Ian Lloyd, cabinet member for arts and leisure, added:”It is wonderful that we have finally reached the stage that we can put our plans to a public consultation.

“We feel that the proposals set out an exciting future for the borough and I hope that our residents get in touch and provide feedback so we can refine our plans and ensure that the vision we have matches that of the people who live and work here.”
