Drayton Manor closed for rest of month

DRAYTON Manor will be closed for the rest of February half-term after significant flooding hit the theme park in the wake of Storm Dennis.

The family attraction confirmed that, due to the extent of the flooding and the water damage, it will be closed until almost the end of February.

It is expected to reopen for the first Thomas & Friends weekend on Saturday, February 29.

This means it will be closed for the rest of February half-term, a blow to families hoping to visit the popular park.

An extensive clean-up operation is underway.

Anyone who has pre-booked tickets to Drayton Manor will be able to move their reservations to alternative dates, including the park’s popular March weekends, or during the main season.

William Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor Park, said: “Due to the extensive flooding in the park from the recent storms we have had to make the difficult decision to close for the duration of the half term break, for the clean-up operation to take place.

“The Drayton Manor team has been working tirelessly to get the site back to normal as quickly as possible, and we will re-open to the public for our Thomas & Friends weekends starting on Saturday 29 February.

“February half-term is a popular time of year at the park and we understand many visitors will be disappointed to hear the news, but due to the extent of the damage we would be unable to offer the quality of experience we and our guests expect.

“As always, the safety of our guests and staff is our utmost priority, and we are doing everything we can.”
