Witness appeal after man is found with suspected stab wound
A MAN was rushed to hospital on Wednesday (September 16) after a suspected stabbing in Rugby.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to the Frobisher Road area of the town and found a man with a stab wound.
The man was taken to hospital and his injuries were not believed to be lifethreatening at this time.
The scene, which was cordoned off as emergency services and paramedics started treatment, is close to a primary school but police have reassured the public the incident was not connected to the school.
Warwickshire Police said the incident occurred at around 10.30am this morning following an altercation.
A statement released by the force said: “Officers are currently in attendance in the Frobisher Road area of Rugby.
“Emergency services were called at around 10.30am this morning after a man sustained a suspected stab wound during an altercation.
“The man has been taken to hospital by ambulance, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
“Please note, this incident is not connected to the nearby primary school.”
The force has asked people who witnessed the incident to call 101 with any information, quoting number 104 of September 16.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a stabbing in Frobisher Road, Rugby at 10.28am.
“An ambulance, paramedic officer and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
“One man was found with serious injuries and received treatment on scene before being taken by land ambulance to hospital.”
