Fright-fest of classic horror films in the city

-

A HALLOWEEN triple bill will be on the cards at a pop up cinema event in Coventry.

The fright-fest will include the classic films Hocus Pocus, Scream and Halloween and will be played at the Rialto Plaza on October 31.

Kicking off at 12.30pm, the movie marathon brings cinema back to Moseley Avenue, once home to the Rialto Casino Cinema.

The first film on the bill is Disney hit Hocus Pocus.

A 90s cult classic Scream is next up on the big screen at 4pm.

The final screening at 8pm is the scariest of them all.

John Carpenter’s highly influential modern horror/suspense film Halloween remains one of the most successful, long-running horror franchises in Hollywood.

Beginning in 1978, Michael Myers has managed to scare the pants off of movie-goers for more than 40 years, with sequels and remakes galore.

The Halloween screenings give a rare opportunity to be spooked and entertained at The Rialto Plaza.

Cinema-goers will be able to grab a cocktail and some popcorn or a hotdog and then sit back and relax on comfy beanbags to watch the film.

A range of cinema snacks and street food will be available, food will be made freshly made to order.

Tickets are limited and promoters will be implementing a rule of six seating arrangement in accordance with Covid-19 safety guidelines.

All Seating is comfy beanbags, blankets can be purchased separately.

The venue is following Covid-19 safety measures, capacity has been capped to ensure physical distancing and management will deep clean the venue before and after every performance.

All staff have been trained to operate within strict Covid guidelines and the venue is implementing staggered entry times to ensure safety entering the venue.

The Rialto has a venue-wide sterilisation programme and hand sanitisation stations throughout the building and automatic soap dispensers in the toilets.

The venue is also operating a one way system around the perimeter of the venue with different doors for entry and exit of the main hall with plentiful signage throughout.
