COVENTRY’S Covid-19 rate is now the lowest it has been since the end of September.

The rate has steadily fallen across the city in recent weeks and is now the lowest it has been in just over five months.

According to the latest seven day rolling data up to March 2, Coventry’s rate stood at 70.25 per 100,000 people.

It has not been this low since September 30 when it stood at 77.52 per 100,000 population.

The falling rate in Coventry is being mirrored across our region.

But one area still remains high despite a decrease.

North Warwickshire, which at one point topped the West Midlands league table for highest Covid-19 cases, still remains high.

According to the Coventry, Warwickshire and Solihull data dashboard, the rate in the area is 93.47 per 100,000.

It ranks North Warwickshire sixth in the table for highest rates in the region, which is topped by by Redditch, where the rate per 100,000 people is 123.15.

It is a fall from the fourth position it held previously.

Nuneaton and Bedworth has the third highest rate in our region - but it is continuing to fall.

The rate, as of the same seven-day rolling period, stood at 67.75 per 100,000 people.

Rugby is next and its rate, as of the same time period, stood at 66.09 per 100,000 people.

Warwick has seen its rate rise slightly.

The seven-day rolling rate in the south Warwickshire town stood at 60.52 per 100,000 people.

Stratford-on-avon has seen its rate fall.

It is now second from bottom, with a rate of 52.27 per 100,000 people.
