Pride of Britain sends message to little Azaylia

PRIDE of Britain awards bosses have sent a touching message to Azaylia Cain and her family.

A post on the national awards page on Facebook features a picture of the eight-month-old, who is bravely battling Acute myeloid leukaemia, her dad, Ashley Cain and mum Safiyya Vorajee.

It reads: “Sending love and support to Azaylia’s family. Your strength and courage is an inspiratio­n #ourprideof­britain “

The post comes as thousands of supporters have flooded the awards with nomination­s for the brave baby girl. Nomination­s for Pride of Britain 2021 are open and huge efforts are being made for the baby girl to receive one of the coveted gongs, which celebrate incredible people across the country.

Azaylia is fast emerging as a contender as her bravery has touched hearts across the world.

Thousands took part in a clap at in her honour on Tuesday night.

Ashley and Safiyya took Azaylia outside to see the special moment from the driveway of the family home in Nuneaton.

I’m A Celebrity 2020 winner Giovanna Fletcher was among celebritie­s to take to their doorstep to applaud her bravery.

Football clubs in Coventry, nurses in Nuneaton and families in London and across the world were among those who joined in the event to mark her bravery.

Sadly, just hours after the emotionall­y charged event, the little one was rushed into hospital after her heart rate spiked.

But after another platelet transfusio­n she was able to return home.

Her dad, former Coventry City player Ashley, revealed the heartbreak­ing news that she was facing a fresh fight for her life last week.
