- By JASPREET KAUR News Reporter

A LITTLE girl from Coventry stole the hearts of viewers when she appeared on hit BBC show Gardeners’ World on Friday (May 20). Monty Don helped the Apata family grow lots of ‘wonderful flowers’ as well as scrumptious looking tomatoes.

Saniska told viewers that she and her family started gardening this year with the help of Monty explaining that they have grown azaleas which have ‘flowered into beautiful yellow, purple and white flowers.’ She went on to show fans of the show the tomato patch which they started earlier this year.

“We have been picking the tomatoes and eating them for dinner,” Saniska said.

She then went on to explain that her dad planted peppers in their garden before showing viewers some of the ‘beautiful’ wildflowers alongside ‘lovely poppies and lovely tiny flowers.’

Monty Don was thoroughly impressed with the ‘fantastic’ effort, saying: “Well thank you very much Saniska and clearly you are a natural gardener. It already looks fantastic.”

And viewers agreed hailing the ‘excited’ young girl a future gardening presenter. @Kittybliss said: “The little girl from Coventry on Gardeners World right now is surely a contender for future presenter of gardening shows!”

@Siriushall101 wrote: “She was very excited. You could tell in her voice.”

Gardeners’ World sees Monty Don give advice and passes on his knowledge to ensure that people across the nation get the most out of their gardens.

Green-fingered enthusiasts watch on to gain useful tips from the professionals and horticulturists on the show, no matter the size of their garden.

Watch Gardeners’ World every Friday at 8pm on BBC Two.
