A MAN was left injured after an attack he likened to ‘something out of a horror film.’ Cory Ben, 21, was allegedly stabbed in Ball Hill, Coventry.

It is understood to have happened outside the William Hill Betting Shop on Walsgrave Road at around 8pm on Monday (June 20). Police say they found the 21-yearold on a nearby street, Binley Road, in the aftermath of the attack.

Officers say he had suffered from hand and shoulder injuries. Thankfully, they are believed to not be serious.

Cory said: “Basically, I was walking out of the Rose and Crown pub after having a meal with my girlfriend and her daughter. We walked up to where you have Activape and Stardust and all the shops, and he has come flying out of a street, went to run us over and then stopped. He pulled his car up at the side of the road, jumped out, running at me screaming.

“He basically left the car rolling in the middle of the street about to write off several other cars which were stopped and then he chased me all around the streets basically.

He then got back in his car, flew off somewhere, and come back down Brays Lane the opposite way towards us again as we were walking up towards William Hill.

“He jumped out of the car like something out of a horror film, chasing me down with a knife, then I fell on the floor and he sliced my wrist and basically my back is cut as well from falling.”

Cory is appealing to any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident. He said: “I would really appreciate it as I know there were a lot of witnesses, the place was packed with people.”

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing to the public to get in touch with any information.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We attended Binley Road, Coventry, following reports of a stabbing at around 8pm on Monday (June 20).

“We found a man in his 20s with hand and shoulder injuries which were not serious. We are carrying out enquiries and anyone with information can contact us via Live Chat on our website.”
