COVENTRY City’s pre-season schedule is complete with the news that the club have confirmed a high profile friendly against newly-promoted Premier League Nottingham Forest.

The Sky Blues have now confirmed five warm-up fixtures, including travelling to the south coast to take on Portsmouth at Fratton Park, which kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, July 23. With the new term starting just one week later, this is almost certainly their final warm-up game before competitive action gets back underway.

Mark Robins’ men will make their first return to action since the end of the season on Saturday when they face non-league neighbours Leamington FC.

The game will kick off at 1pm at the Your Co-op Community Stadium.

The Sky Blues will then head to Spain for their annual week-long training camp which will include a match against Steve Cooper’s Forest. The match is scheduled to take place on Friday, July 8. It will be a 6.30pm kick-off (Spanish time) at the Pinatar Arena, Murcia. That will be followed up by a trip to the Kassam Stadium, where they will take on Karl Robinson’s Oxford United. The game will kick off at 3pm on Saturday, July 16.

City will be on the road again on Tuesday, July 19 when they go to the Banks’ Stadium for a meeting with Walsall. Adult tickets for the game are £13, while concessions are £7. A family ticket costs £16 and go on sale from June 10.

The players are back a week earlier than usual due to the fact that the season is starting seven days earlier (weekend of July 30) next season as the World Cup will interrupt the campaign for a five-week period in November and December.
