A NEW Mexican food outlet is coming to Coventry - and it’s likely to pack a punch. Tortilla, which prides itself as ‘the UK’S largest fast-casual Mexican restaurant brand’, will open the doors of its 56th restaurant in Cathedral Lanes on Friday, October 28.

Seating up to 14 people, the restaurant will create 20 new jobs across front-of-house, kitchen, and management roles.

“The launch of Tortilla Coventry brings with it the brand’s customisable and authentic, California-style menu, with dishes to suit all tastes, cravings, or dietary requirements,” a Tortilla spokesperson said.

“Whether ordering in-store, clickand-collect to takeaway or for delivery, customers can build their own meal with a choice of tasty fillings such as Mexican rice, black beans, grilled seasonal veggies and fresh mild, medium and hot salsas, including their fresh, hand-smashed guacamole.

They added: “Its choice of protein – served in tacos, burritos, bowls, quesadillas and atop nachos queso – includes slow-cooked Barbacoa with grass-fed British Isle brisket, grilled chicken or succulent pulled carnitas pork. Approved by the Vegetarian & Vegan Society, Tortilla also serves an organic tempeh Chilli No Carne or a choice of grilled seasonal veggies. All toppings are prepared fresh on-site each morning and every dish is made to order.”

Headquartered in London, Tortilla also bills itself as the ‘fully customisable’ restaurant that has options to suit all budgets. Its burritos start from £6.75, a trio of tacos from £6.55, and chips and salsa from £2.85. Its loyalty club also offers customers complimentary burritos after reaching purchase milestones.
