COVENTRY City have sold out their allocation for Saturday’s big play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

General admission tickets went on sale yesterday morning after the club sold around 31,500 of their 36,237 allocation to season ticket holders last week.

And Sky Blues fans snapped up the remaining near 5,000 seats within an hour of them going on sale at 10am, meaning the allocation of general admission tickets are now sold out.

Wheelchair and ambulant disabled tickets remain available by calling the Ticket Office.

Mark Robins and his side travel to Wembley this Saturday to face Luton Town, with a place in the Premier League being the prize for the winner. Kick-off for the game is at 4.45pm.

City fans will be located in the West End of the national stadium – the same as for the club’s League Two play-off final and Checkatrade Trophy Final - both of which the Sky Blues won.

Ticketmaster will be distributing ALL Coventry City FC tickets direct, including those bought in person. Fans will receive print at home tickets, sent via email.

Meanwhile, EFL pundit Sam Parkin believes Saturday’s play-off final between Coventry City and Luton Town will be a “fascinating” encounter that will go to the “bitter, bitter end” at Wembley Stadium.

The former Hatters’ forward, who scored ten goals in 50 appearances between 2006-09, reckons his old club have the “slight” edge due to their outstanding campaign which saw them finish in third place, having completed 21 wins, 17 draws and lost just eight times (four home and four away) over the course of 46 games. The Sky Blues, meanwhile, recorded 18 wins, 16 draws and 12 defeats to finish in fifth place.

“I’d make them (Luton) slight favourites considering the season that

they’ve had,” said Parkin, assessing the two sides on ITV’S EFL Play-off Highlights show.

“But I think in terms of styles, it’s going to be fascinating. Coventry have changed from a bit of a possessionheavy side to being a bit more direct and playing into Gyokeres.

“Luton want to get the ball into their two strikers as well, so that’s going to be fascinating.”

Reflecting on how Robins’ men dealt with Middlesbrough in the 1-0 second leg win at the Riverside Stadium where they kept the division’s second highest scoring side at bay, including the Championship’s golden boot winner Chuba Akpom, Parkin said: “Coventry were supreme I thought defensively, so they will have to be at the same levels to deal with Adebayo and Carlton Morris in this game.

“These are two really great teams with an incredible story and I think that’s the beauty of it, we’re going to have a side back in the Premier League who once upon a time were at the top tier.”
