Smash hit film set to debut with orchestra soundtrack
THE Academy Award-winning film Encanto is set to come to life for the first time ever in the UK this summer.
And families can enjoy a unique concert experience that combines the entire feature-length film with a full live orchestra performing the score.
Encanto, from Walt Disney Animation Studios, tells the tale of the Madrigals, an extraordinary family living in a magical house in the mountains of Colombia, in a vibrant town and a charmed place called Encanto.
The magic of Encanto has blessed every child in each family with a gift, from super strength to the incredible power to heal – but there’s one young girl the magic missed, and that is Mirabel.
Mirabel is the only ordinary Madrigal, but when she discovers the magic surrounding their home is in danger, she also realises she may be her family’s – and the Madrigals’ – last and only hope.
Encanto, which was released in 2021 and features the voice of Stephanie Beatriz as Mirabel, received the Academy
Award, BAFTA, and Golden Globe, as well as the Producers Guild of America Award for Best Animated Feature.
And the soundtrack features eight original songs by Academy Awardnominated, Tony, and Grammywinning songwriter/composer Linmanuel Miranda, who also wrote the musician Hamilton and wrote the music for another Disney animated classic, Moana.
Its songs include We Don’t Talk About Bruno, Waiting On A Miracle, and What Else Can I Do? and the orchestra means the music will be extra special.
