My solution to the problem queues at West Orchards

- KJ Clarke,coventry.

YOUR report of a Coventry City Council meeting about a councillors complaint of queues exiting West Orchards car park suggests that no solutions are envisaged by Coventry City Council who introduced this failed layout which affects citizens and visitors.

There are actually three issues that could easily be resolved to improve traffic flow:

Put pedestrian lights on crossing at exit onto Corporation Street

Turn “no mans land” junction outside Belgrade Theatre/telegraph Hotel into proper junction - lights or mini roundabout - so that priorities are clear. Can be done cheaply with some white road markings.

Put pedestrian lights on crossing between Belgrade Theatre and Telegraph Hotel.

Once you get past the Belgrade crossing the traffic flows freely to the ring road so it is clear where the issues are. Important to note they are not problems just at Christmas they apply all year.

Had to email council to empty my bins

WITH the council now charging an additional £40 a year for garden waste collection, will that payment guarantee our bins will be emptied - because they ain’t at the moment!

For the last two due dates I’ve had to email the council to remind them before the binmen came out at the weekend (on overtime rates?) to empty them. Not good enough.

I fear gigafactory plan will end in tears

I CANNOT believe that we are accepting Chinese money to build a gigafactory at Coventry airport. We should stay well clear of any involvement if we have any sense, which I doubt we have! It will end in tears.
