COVER TAPE TANTRUM

-

Dear Lloyd,

I am really enjoying the revitalised CRASH magazine which is taking me back to my youth sat at home eagerly reading it straight after getting it, only difference being that back then I didn’t need glasses to be able to read it.

However I did notice that my cover tape must have fallen out in the post as it never arrived. I was

on the computer and no internet meant I could either struggle for a couple of hours with BASIC or play games. Games won most times...

Turns out the creative bug never left me. Last year, nearly forty years later, and with the help of a wonderfully creative and flourishing Speccy Game Dev community, I made my first Speccy game, Jumpin’Jupiter. Reminiscent of Manic Miner, it was simple but (I hope!) fun!

Four more games followed and there’s more on the way. I even got one on an actual cassette! Dream very much realised, I thought, and then I saw one of my games in CRASH #1 and then another two in CRASH #2. really looking to loading up those CRASH

SMASHes of yesteryear.

Looking forward to many more fun packed issues to come.

Kind Regards,

Peter “The Fitch” Fitchett

Oh the fun we had doing those tapes, 2hrs before the magazines went to the shops. Tapes are so, ermm, retro. Time for the ‘Cover Micro SD’ I think!

Blimey!

Making Speccy games is a dream (finally!) come true. Seeing them in this wonderful continuation of CRASH is definitely the cherry on top!

Thank you so much, and may the Spectrum, and CRASH, continue forever!

Stay safe, stay well, QS (Quantum Sheep)

Keep those games coming QS — you are helping keep the scene alive!!
