THE HUMANS TIPS

-

The Spectrum version of Lemmings back in 1991 was a monochrome affair, missing the colourful graphics of the Amiga original. Now 30 years on Gabriele Amore and John Davies are here to show how it should have been done with their clone called The Humans!

● Humans are stupid. Just ask Karen why she doesn’t wear a mask in Aldi! They need to be told what to do at all times.

● The key to the game is in choosing the correct skills to save your humans. Digger digs down, ladder climbs up, floater gives a soft landing, stopper halts the crowd, pickaxe digs horizontally, climber climbs walls and if all goes wrong there is suicide which brings armageddon to them all.

● You only get a set number of skills to give your humans on each level though. You can spend them all on one skill, or a spread of skills. This adds an extra strategy element that the original Lemmings didn’t have. You need to scan the level to get the measure of it really quickly, then move the finger pointer with speed and precision.

● Inevitably you will lose some of your humans along the way, but that’s OK, it’s all about learning the quirks of the level. Gabriele and John want you just enjoy the experience, so if you get fed up of a particular level you can just press O and P together to skip to the next.
