FRESH INVESTIGATIONS IN DELPHI MURDERS
It’s believed police might be investigating new information relating to the murders of Liberty German, 14, and Abigail Williams, 13, in Delphi, Indiana. Reports emerged that searches were taking place at the Wabash River, after journalist Áine Cain and lawyer Kevin Greenlee – the hosts of a true-crime podcast – received an anonymous tip-off. They told US outlets, “We just ran up there ourselves to see what was happening, and we witnessed a search of about 12 personnel in the river… they had buckets, shovels. They seemed to have devices that could have been metal detectors, and Indiana State Police vehicles were parked next to the river. We documented that and then looked at events we felt were likely related, based on what our anonymous sources have told us.” The police did not confirm why they were at the scene.
The teenagers were murdered in 2017 while out hiking, and Liberty took a photograph of a man following them on the bridge, who many believe to be the killer. To date, no one has been convicted, though it was recently announced police were questioning Kegan Kline, who reportedly spoke with Liberty on the day she died. He has denied any involvement. It was also revealed they are investigating a fake social media account that had been in touch with at least one of the girls. Police said, “This profile was being used from 2016 to 2017 on social media, including on… Snapchat and Instagram. The fictitious profile used images of a known male model and portrayed himself as being extremely wealthy and owning numerous sports cars. The creator of the fictitious profile used this information while communicating with juvenile females to solicit nude images, obtain their addresses, and attempt to meet them.”
