US MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER FIRST DATE
A 33-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with killing and dismembering a teenager after they went on a date. Bartender Maxwell Anderson faces charges of homicide, mutilation of a corpse and arson, after Sade Robinson, 19, disappeared, and remains were found close to her burning car.
Sade was reported missing on 1 April, after failing to arrive at work at a pizza restaurant. She’d been with Anderson the evening before and CCTV footage showed them dining together, before they were later picked up on camera in her Honda Civic making their way to Anderson’s home. Sade’s was retrieved from inside, as was her phone, with human remains found nearby. Hours later, a leg was pulled from the lake at Warnimont Park in Cudahy, Wisconsin, and it was revealed that Sade’s car had been driven there at 3am, with the driver ramming the fence to force entry. Several body parts were subsequently found in different areas across the state.
Anderson was arrested after Sade’s phone was placed at his home that evening, and a search of the property is alleged to have found blood on the walls, as well as what was described by US news reports as a “sex dungeon” in the basement. At time of press,
Anderson was being held on $5million bail and had not yet entered a plea. Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman said, “Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of Sade Robinson. This is a horrendous tragedy, and I cannot imagine the pain you must be going through. I would like to express my deepest and most sincere sympathy.”
On 20 April, friends and family held a vigil to remember Sade.
Her mother Sheena Scarbrough said, “We are celebrating you, Sade, and the angel that you were and that you are”. The family are setting up a non-profit foundation to support the families of missing black women and children.
