SCENIC’S PENGUIN PAIRS

-

Scenic has added an exclusive helicopter excursion visiting the remote Snow Hill Island in Antarctica to see 5,000 breeding pairs of emperor penguins.

The penguin colony, set on an island only accessible by helicopter, is surrounded by soaring icebergs and was not discovered until the 1990s. Guests on Scenic Eclipse’s 19-day Antarctica & The Weddell Sea itinerary departing December 19 will be among the first to take the excursion, timed to coincide with the end of the breeding season to see the penguins with their down-covered chicks.

The voyage includes a chance to see elephant seals, plus orca, minke and humpback whales (scenic.co.uk).
