A STRIKING new SUV is now on show at Ayrshire KGM dealer Kerr & Smith Cumnock.

Costing from £34,995, the KGM Torres is the Korean manufacturer’s most distinctive vehicle to date.

Delivering exceptional levels of interior space, packed with technology and styled like nothing else in the class, it offers something different to the segment’s default choices backed up with a five-year warranty.

Available in two trim levels with front-wheel-drive – K30 and K40 – an all-wheel-drive

K40 will strengthen the range this summer.

There will also be an electrified model, badged Torres EVX, expected to deliver a range of around 200 miles.

Power is provided by a 161bhp 1.5 G-Di turbocharged petrol engine with third generation Aisin six-speed automatic transmission.

Equipment levels are high across the range, with the top K40 wanting for nothing.

Kevin Griffin, managing director of KGM UK, said; “Torres is the first to reinterpret our future design vision, which draws heavily on our unique heritage.

“Its launch marks an exciting, new era for design, performance, and product with all models moving forward adhering to this new approach.

“The SUV market is continually expanding and subdividing, and with Torres, we are filling the gap between semimedium-sized SUVs such as Korando and large SUVs like Rexton.

“This move will create an additional segment in the market and open new opportunities for us as we continue to develop our product offering that adds value and originality.”

Built on a new platform designed for multiple drivetrains, Torres builds on the brand’s longstanding SUV and 4x4 heritage.
