There is a category of bicycle known as the Dutch bike, taking its name from a country famed for its use of bikes as everyday transport and referring to utilitarian bikes designed for easy everyday use. As such they usually have full- length mudguards, lights and a lock fitted as standard. Given that Cube is itself based in the Netherlands, then, it’s no surprise it has added this style of bicycle to its line- up of electric assist models in the form of the Supreme Hybrid Pro 625.

The starting point for the Pro 625 is an open, unisex- style frame formed from aluminium, which has an oversized down tube to accommodate both the Bosch

Powertube battery and the matching Bosch motor between the cranks at its base.

To ensure you get the maximum benefit from that Bosch motor, the Supreme Hybrid Pro 625 features an eight- speed Shimano Nexus driveline that operates the gears in the rear hub with a simpleto- use twist- shift gear changer.

Since this is a Dutch- style bike, comfort is paramount and that means there’s not only a Suntour suspension fork at the front of the bike but also a short-travel suspension seat post. In combination with the large volume 50c tyres, these features combine to create a bike that will happily roll its way over the roughest of roads without disturbing the rider in any way.

The list of accessories includes an adjustable handlebar stem, fully enclosed drivetrain, mudguards, a rear rack, front and rear lights, a kickstand and even a frame- mounted lock to secure the rear wheel. Together it adds up to an extremely practical bike that can be used all year round for all types of rides.
