Forget toe clips and straps (‘Strapping lad’, CW August 3), cycling’s never been the same since bikes were made from rocks. Don’t tell me that Fred Flintstone didn’t know a thing or two. He never lost a pedal in a sprint — he, and others in that golden age, kept both feet on the floor.
