Phil burt’s top tips
Determine your goal and work back from there. Your bike position should be a reflection of your goal, whether that’s improving comfort or aerodynamics. If big changes are made during your bike-fit, don’t go straight out and do a long ride. It’s safer to ride for one or two hours, then reflect on whether the new position is working for you. Don’t succumb to club-ride peer pressure from the sort of people who mockingly enquire as to why you’re using an inverted stem. They don’t know you or your body’s history.
