Cycling Weekly - - PROMOTIONAL FEATURE -

Choosing the right winter bike is a tricky business as it involves a lot more than what type of bike to get but also the tyres, mudguards, lights and additional winter kit choices. The list, and cost, can feel endless. So imagine if all the decision making was done for you. On one bike. For less than £1,500. Welcome home the Cube Nuroad Race FE. The 7005 Aluminium Superlight frame and carbon fork’s geometry is based around the racy Cube Attain endurance bike for all-day comfort. The sizing mirrors the fast-paced Cube Cross Race which should give confidence-inspiring handling on all terrain. The Nuroad Race FE isn’t, however, a simple marriage of two existing bikes. Cube engineers have built on these strong foundations to design a bike that fundamentally ticks every box on the winter bike checklist. Frame clearances allow for a whopping 40mm of tyre space, even with the SKS Gravel mudguards in place. It’s ideal for cross tyres and mud, making the bike just as happy off-road as on tarmac. Wrapped around this is Shimano’s 11-speed 105 groupset with compact gear ratios (50/34) and an 11-32 cassette. A big plus are the hydraulic disc brakes which perfectly complement the bike’s adventurous nature. The integrated Supernova E3 Pure 3 and E3 Tail Light 2 dynamo lights remove the need for charging and automatically switch on, giving you bright lights every ride as well as an automatic rear light too. An impressive package for any winter adventure, be it just the long way home, or somewhere further afield, the Cube Nuroad Race FE is the perfect companion.

luggage Coming as standard, the rear Racktime Light-it luggage rack weighs just 570g, but is capable of taking up to a whopping 20kg. That’s about the same as most airline baggage allowances so if you’re looking for a longer adventure, no problem ▼
