Dissent 133 layered glove system
There are on average 133 rainy days in a UK year, and this South Downs-based brand has come up with an innovative way to enable you to ride, not hide, during them.
The idea is that you layer your hands just as you would layer the rest of your body. There are four separate gloves in Dissent’s 133 system, with at least 11 possible combinations based on wearing a maximum of three.
A silk liner glove acts as the base layer, then there’s the Cordura E-touch thermal layer, the Showerlite windproof layer and the Outdry Lite waterproof layer.
All four gloves are available separately, or Dissent 133 offers them as the Ultimate Pack (all four gloves) at £95, the Waterproof Pack (three gloves) at £80 or the Windproof Pack (three gloves) at £58.
Dissent 133 says its layering system has multiple advantages including the ability to strip off a layer mid-ride. In theory you no longer need a pair of deep winter gloves for just a few rides a year. Nor are there annoying liners turning themselves inside-out when you take the glove off.
