LAST WEEK
Ambiancecross (November 24)
In the week when Roger de Vlaeminck accused Mathieu van der Poel (Corendoncircus) of having “broken” cyclo-cross with his dominance, the Dutchman responded by winning yet again. Denise Betsema (Marlux-bingoal) won on the line to claim top step of the women’s podium. GP Topolcianky (November 24)
Racing against a field consisting almost entirely of Slovaks, Belgian Seppe Rombouts (Creafin-tuvsud) denied home riders the victory, winning by seven seconds from Ondrej Glajza. It was the 20-year-old’s first win of the season. Czech Jana Czeczinkarová won the women’s category. World Cup Koksijde (November 25) Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel (Correndon-circus) continued his dominance of the men’s elite rankings, winning with a clear 25-second over second place Wout van Aert. Van der Poel has won 13 of the 15 races that he has contested this cross season.
