Wattbike Atom

-

“The Atom is the most intuitive, intelligent and accurate indoor trainer on Earth,” asserts Nottinghambased Wattbike.

You know how in our smart turbo grouptests we usually whinge about how heavy they are and how we can’t lift them into the boot of a car? Well, at 44kg the Atom — something of a misnomer — ain’t going nowhere once you’ve got it set up at home, so just accept it.

Set-up involves a bike-fit: you adjust saddle height, setback etc to the same as your outdoor bike. It also has fully adjustable handlebars with time trial extensions that neatly incorporate a shelf for your smart device, which will act as your screen. Or use your own bars; you can swap out the saddle and pedals for your own too.

As for its connectivity, it’s just like using a smart turbo: pair it with your device and you can use Zwift, hit a Trainerroad session, Sufferfest or whatever you usually do and ‘enjoy’ what Wattbike calls Real Ride Feel, which replicates the resistance and sensation of riding on the road.
