What not to miss at London Track World Cup this weekend

-

Friday 11:00-15:55 and 19:00-21:35 Men’s team sprint — All day Olympic champions Jason Kenny and Phil Hindes line up alongside ryan Owens to contest the sprint crown that they were just pipped to in Berlin two weekends ago.

Para-cycling 500m TT — Morning This is the first time the para-cycling athletes have lined up alongside their able-bodied counterparts at a Track World Cup and so it’s a special event throughout the day.

Team pursuit — All day derby-base Huub-wattbike have picked up two medals in the most recent two World Cups but not a gold. The blistering set of amateurs will hope to go one better on home soil. The women’s event sees Olympic champions Katie archibald and Laura Kenny take the lead, with Eleanor dickinson and Megan Barker also set to ride.

Saturday 11:30-15:20 and 18:00-21:10 Women’s sprint — All day GB’S female sprinters have found results hard to come by of late but Lauren Bate, in her first season at senior level, is a hot prospect for the future.

Women’s omnium — All day archibald and Kenny both took home omnium gold from the last two World Cup rounds. now Elinor Barker is slated to start and will want to keep the run going.

Sunday 9:00-12:50 and 15:00-18:10 Women’s Madison — Afternoon archibald and Kenny line up together for the first time since the European Championships in august. They were fourth there but we doubt archibald will be happy with anything less than maintaining her perfect record at World Cup Madison.

Men’s sprint – All day Jason Kenny and ryan Owens are scheduled to headline the charge. Kenny has been improving with every competition since his return to racing.
