Celia Tennant

Clydesdale Colts’s aim is to introduce young people to all disciplines of cycling and with Celia Tennant at the helm they have been hugely successful. With the help of her committee the club now have 150 children participating in weekend sessions, with summer evening training too. They even have a waiting list for new joiners.

Glyn Durrant

When he stopped racing 25 years ago, Glyn Durrant began working hard behind the scenes of the Surrey Cycle Racing League, taking over the running of the league five years ago. Durrant runs the accounts and admin, risk assesses races, uploads results, liaises with clubs and coordinates a calendar of over 150 races for around 1,300 riders.

Debbie Wharton

It is fair to say that Geraint Thomas may never have won the Tour de France without Debbie Wharton. And he’s just one of many top riders to have learnt from Wharton at Cardiff’s Maindy Flyers. In the mid-90s Wharton was charged with bringing the Maindy track back to life and created the now famous club where she continues to coach.
