MICHAEL BROADWITH
After making a comeback in 2013 and then establishing near-dominance in the National 24-hour TT, Home Counties schoolteacher Michael Broadwith was eventually persuaded to have a go at Gethin Butler’s ‘unbreakable’ Land’s End to John o’ Groats record this year. Despite hours of torrential rain and being unable to hold his head up towards the end, Broadwith persevered and ultimately took more than half an hour off Butler’s record, finishing in 43:25.13.
