HANNAH BARNES

-

Pretty much bookending a season with victories is never a bad way to show your class, and Hannah Barnes proved she was more than capable once again with mixing it with the world’s best in 2018. Two stage wins and the overall victory at Setmana Ciclista Valenciana was the first overall race victory of her career. However, after a sixth place at Ghent-wevelgem, a broken collarbone at the Giro Rosa stunted her season. It wasn’t until the National Championships that Barnes came back into the limelight, winning the national time trial title – sharing the podium with her sister Alice. Taking this prowess against the clock onwards helped Barnes finish off her year in style as Canyon-sram beat the favourites of Sunweb and Boels-dolmans to take the World Team Time Trial title in Innsbruck.
