Like its older sibling the Tour of Flanders, Ghent-wevelgem features post-lockdown concessions, with altered timings to allow fans to see the end of that day’s Giro d’italia stage to Roccaraso. The men’s course is also shortened by around 20km, with the usual foray into France left out.
On the bright side, organisers have added a third ascent of the notorious Kemmelberg, which could spice things up.

Shorter than usual this year by around 20km, Scheldeprijs will offer a useful midweek warm-up ahead of the Tour of Flanders. It’s a gentler route spanning Belgium and the Netherlands, and gives the purer sprinters a chance to win a Classic.
While it avoids the region’s bergs and cobbled roads, strong winds can still have an effect.
