My first forays into the world of cycling began on the rolling hills of the South Downs Way. Since then I’ve competed in grass track races, bike polo games and the single-speed cross-country mountain bike National

Championships – as well as the more usual crit races, hill-climbs and muddy fields of cyclo-cross. On long Sunday loops, the Avant H60-D remained comfortable and was a pleasure to ride. That said, higher intensity midweek blasts were marred a little by the large jumps between gears.
