Day Six: Maybole to Bassenthwaite Lake

To download this route go to komoot.com/tour/225205749 or scan the QR code. Head south from Maybole to Crosshill on the B7023 and follow signs for Bargrennan to pick up the A714 for Newton Stewart. Follow the A712 to New Galloway, after which follow signs for Sundaywell and Milton and eventually Dumfries. Leave Dumfries on the B725 to Annan and on through Gretna and Carlisle. From here follow the B5299 through Uldale, where it turns into the B5291, which leads onto Bassenthwaite Lake and Herwick Croft Campsite.
