Taking the road less travelled

To download this route go to cyclist.co. uk/113italy or scan the QR code. Starting in Comeglians, head out of town through the cobbled tunnel, signed at its entrance Monte Crostis. These are recurring signs for cyclists so follow them for 15km through Mieli and Tualis and on to the panoramic road. At the summit a stop at Refugio Chidinas is recommended for views and fuel. The descent is a single road that after 20km joins with the SS465. Head east on the SS465 to Sutrio and south to Priola, turning right when you see the black and white sign announcing ‘Priola’. Follow the road through town to the playground at the top, then bear right towards the mountains. Around kilometre 49 this old road joins the SP123 to the Zoncolan’s summit and down to Ovaro. Then head north on the SR355 back to Comeglians.
