Having first been tested in secret by EF Pro Cycling at last year’s Tour de France, Vittoria’s new AirLiner tyre inserts have now been revealed as a failsafe against tubeless punctures. The liner’s closed cell foam doesn’t absorb sealant and each one weighs just 24g. While it fills most of the rimtyre void at ambient pressure, pumping the tyre up squishes the foam down against the rim channel to retain tubeless tyres’ low rolling resistance.

Vittoria says that if tyre pressure is lost the insert will expand again, acting as a pseudobeadlock to allow you to pedal up to 50km at 20kmh without too much risk of rim damage or the tyre peeling off the rim.
