Hear me out here, because I know you’re all wondering why I’d pick a plain water bottle. Well, I think the term ‘marginal gains’ has become an overused cliché but the Elite Fly bottles are surely the epitome of the concept.

They’re so thin that as well as being super-light (just 55g) they’re much easier to squeeze than a regular bottle, which means precious micro- watts of energy saved per squeeze. Just think of all that recouped energy over the course of a long, hot day in the saddle.

Of course I jest. Or do I? Regardless, there’s also the fact they’re just very lovely bottles to use.
