I have a lot of bike helmets – it comes with the territory – but which one do I reach for time and again for personal rides? The Giro Helios. Why? Because the Helios strikes a really good balance of all the features I want in a helmet.

It’s light (277g), I find it extremely comfortable, especially thanks to the Roc Loc 5 micro adjustment, and it has a decent amount of ventilation versus its purported aero credentials. Plus, while I hope I’ll never have to put the Mips Spherical brain-saving technology to the test, I find it reassuring to know that it’s there just in case.
