One route, two cantons, three passes

To download this route go to cyclist.co.uk/117swiss or scan the QR code. Starting at the UCI headquarters in Aigle in the canton of Vaud, ride south along the bike path edging the Rhône for 7.5km, turning left at the bridge over the motorway and joining the road at Route de Placettes. Turn left onto Route de la Torme, then after a low stone bridge fork right and briefly continue parallel to the train tracks before taking the next left through the vineyards. Follow signs to Bex, then onto Route de Gryon. From here you’re into mountains and onto the Col de la Croix and it’s a case of taking the road up, following signs to Les Diablerets. At Les Diablerets follow the Route du Pillon road (the next col) past Glacier 3000 and on to Gstaad in the canton of Bern.

Follow Route 11 and tick off town names in this order: Rougemont (meaning you’re now back in Vaud), Combes, Granges then Moulins, where Col du Mosses starts at around 80km. From the crest of Mosses it couldn’t be more simple: downhill on Route 11 all the way to Aigle and back to the UCI headquarters on the banks of the Rhône.
