Of all the kit manufacturers, you always wonder ‘What will Assos do next?’. And the answer this time is the Spider Bag, made from repurposed bibshort bibstraps. Yes, that’s kind of weird, but it might actually be kind of ingenious too.

The Spider Bag is a 3-litre-capacity, 167g weatherproof backpack shaped to sit unobtrusively on the back, potentially making it an alternative to the bulk of a regular backpack or excellent for use on bike-packing adventures when a bike is fully laden or you want to carry a few supplies on foot. It has reflective detailing for visibility and an internal storage sleeve and key clip for organisation.

It might be easy to scoff at but we’d suggest not knocking it until you’ve tried it.
