Is it wrong to exercise every day?

‘Training’ every day probably isn’t smart. But daily exercise, which could include walking the dog or gardening, should be encouraged.

Should I do a warmup before getting on the bike?

You can warm up aerobically on the bike but some form of mobility and activation work around the hips, lower and upper back and shoulders is a good idea. This could include foam roller work.

Do cyclists need to train the upper body? Yes. Elite cyclists are very careful about gaining muscle, but having extra upperbody strength will help most people, and you can build strength without packing on heavy muscle.
