Selle Italia’s new Model X Green Superflow may look like a fairly ordinary saddle, but it represents an exciting new direction for saddle design. Selle Italia says it is the first saddle to be made in an entirely automated process, with all the parts fitting together mechanically, meaning there’s no need for adhesives or polyurethanes. Its resultant 315g weight is a little chunky by modern standards, but the way it has been produced makes it much better for the environment as well as helping to keep the price notably low.
