ROAD Brighstone to Chale 12 miles Difficulty: Easy

This relaxing, charming route starts at Brighstone Church and takes you along picturesqu­e lanes to Chale. Take the family and spend the day at Blackgang Chine. Stop at The Wight Mouse Inn for a bite to eat.

ROAD Loop from Ventnor 38 miles Difficulty: Intermedia­te

This is an out-and-back route from Ventnor where you flip back at Freshwater. There’s a fair amount of climbing and a cracking pit stop around the halfway mark at The Piano Café.

GRAVEL Red Squirrel Trail 33 miles Difficulty: Moderate

As the name suggests, this is a route where you’ll discover some of the island’s wildlife habitats including, of course, the red squirrel. The route starts in West Cowes and takes in Sandown, via numerous off-road sections.

GRAVEL Wight Giara 100 100 miles

Difficulty: Very hard

One-hundred miles of gravel riding consuming 2,200m of elevation, this is a route for the experience­d cyclist. Grace’s Bakery in Yarmouth and Lady Scarlett’s Tea Parlour in Ventnor are two must-visits in search of tasty energy.
