All alone on Ventoux

Follow the path less travelled on the Giant of Provence

To download this route go to cyclist.co.uk/ 122ventoux or scan the QR code. From Bédoin, follow the crowds on the usual route up Ventoux by taking the D974 signposted to Chalet Reynard. After 8km turn left off the tarmac onto a gravel trail through the woods. Follow the trail north for 11km until it spits you out onto the D974 from Malaucène about 5km below the summit.

Turn right and take the road to the summit before continuing on the D974 to Chalet Reynard (a good lunch stop). From the cafe, retrace your steps back up the hill for 400m before taking a left onto a gravel trail that traces a course west across the mountain, crossing your original route after about

8km. Continue westwards and eventually south until you arrive back in Bédoin.
