You’re sure of an excellent ride in the Cambrian Mountains

To download this route go to cyclist.co.uk/ 123cambrian or scan the QR code. With a lot of off-road, and little signposting, this isn’t a ride to attempt without a GPS bike computer, but these are the basic details…

From Llandovery on the northwest edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, follow the A483 north for 4km before turning right onto a single lane road for 2.5km until you see a Forestry Commission sign marked Cefn Farm. Wiggle your way northwards through Crychan Forest until you join the road that takes you to Cefn-gorwydd. Turn left to Llanwrtyd Wells (a good coffee stop), then head south before exiting the A483 at a sign for Irfon Forest. Follow trails and roads northwest to skirt around Llyn Brianne Reservoir, then take the road south through Cilycwm and back to Llandovery.
