Le Col Snood
£25, lecol.cc
Layering for spring riding is a delicate balancing act. I often appreciate a bit of protection around my neck, but a highcollared jacket is often irritating. Whatever you call this particular garment – snood, buff, neck gaiter – it’s ideal on brisk morning or windy afternoon rides.
Le Col’s version is particularly good: a soft tube of fabric with raw cut edges and just one seam to minimise itching and scratching. It also takes up next to no space packed down, so if I find all my layers are getting to be a bit much I just stuff it in my pocket – or frame bag – until I get home.
