THERE’S a potential millionaire somewhere in the Valleys.

The National Lottery is still searching for the Lotto Millionaire Raffle winner from August 27.

The owner of the ticket – if it was lost of destroyed – had until Monday to submit a valid claim in writing.

But if the lucky winner has the ticket, they have until February 23 next year to claim their win.

This means the winner, or any claim submitted for a lost or destroyed ticket, cannot be revealed until the February deadline.

The ticket was bought in Merthyr Tydfil or Rhondda Cynon Taf.

The one-off Lotto draw was held to thank National Lottery players for the support they have given Team GB through playing the lottery.

This draw created an extra 67 winners of lifechanging prizes in one night – 27 prizes of £1m were up for grabs to match the number of gold medals won in Rio, 23 prizes of £100,000 to equal the silver medal haul and 17 additional prizes of £50,000 to match those bronze medals won by Team GB.

If nobody comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline the prize money, plus all the in- terest it has generated, will go to help National Lottery-funded projects across the UK.

Andy Carter, who leads the team that pays out major National Lottery winners, said: “This was a special draw to celebrate Team GB’s success in Rio and to thank players for all the support they have given athletes by playing The National Lottery.

“We’re encouraging all players who bought a ticket for the Lotto Medal Draw in Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda to check their old tickets again or look anywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.”

The winning code for this prize was RUBY 6863 3083.
