PONTYPOOL made it six wins out of six in the WRU National Championsh­ip with a crushing eight-try 55-8 defeat of previously-unbeaten Narberth.

Lloyd Lewis’ hat-trick led the way with Rob Nash at the double while Jordan Thomas, Geraint Walsh and Clayton Gullis also crashed over the whitewash.

Matthew Jones kicked five conversion­s and a penalty with Kieron Meek adding the other conversion.

Richard Rees got the Narberth try while Ianto Griffiths kicked a penalty but it was scant consolatio­n as they slipped to a first defeat of the campaign.

The win for Pooler saw them go six clear of third-placed Narberth while remain one clear of Cardiff Metropolit­an University – who also made it six from six with a five-star 36-5 win over Beddau.

Luke Northmore crossed twice with Will Morris, Alex Dove and Ellis Bevan the other Met try scorers.

Harry Johnson kicked three conversion­s and a penalty while Russell Bennett also added a conversion.

Elsewhere, Ystrad Rhondda, who are fourth, were 48-28 winners over Tata Steel – their fourth victory of the campaign.

Curtis Williams and Jared Llewellyn both helped themselves to try braces, while Jay Harris and Sion Summers were also on the scoresheet.

Rhys Truelove converted all six tries as well as booting two penalties.

Dai Griggs scored a hat-trick for Tata, while Amir Jiwa-Walgi also scored as they bagged a try bonus point.

Taylor Phillips converted all four of the tries.

Trebanos were 31-17 home winners against bottom of the table Newbridge.

Matthew Edwards’ hat-trick inspired the win for Trebanos who also had Tom Davies and Steff Lewis among their try scorers. Edwards added three conversion­s.

Anthony Symons and Christian Francis scored twice for Newbridge, with both tries converted by Sam Withers who also added a penalty.

Meanwhile, two tries for Llyr Jones helped Newcastle Emlyn to a 23-17 home win over Bedlinog.

Lewys Jonathan got their other try while Shaun Leonard kicked a conversion and two penalties.

And tries from Kyle Perry, Liam Williams, Chris Tottle and Sam Studley helped Rhydyfelin to a 2712 win at Maesteg Quins.

Gavin Close kicked two conversion­s and a penalty.

One East Central leaders Glamorgan Wanderers crashed to their first defeat of the season as they went down 26-15 at home by Treorchy. Curtis Hughes and Jacob Lloyd got the two Treorchy tries with Jordan Lloyd adding 16 points from the tee.

That defeat for the Wanderers allowed Rhiwbina to close to within a point at the top after they won 2520 at Llantrisan­t.

Ollie Golden, Mike Curtis and a penalty try were on the scoresheet for the Squirrels with Lewis Pearce sending over a conversion and two penalties.

In One West Central leaders Kenfig Hill ran home five tries in a 38-12 home victory over Maesteg Celtic.

Tom Briggs, Scott Waller, Jamie Williams, Jonny Clatworthy and Jay Tame were the try scorers.

Kenfig Hill are a point clear of Bonymaen – who were 38-10 winners over Aberavon Quins.

And, in One East, Brynmawr are five from five after a 15-7 win over Penallta.

Brynmawr are one point clear of Brecon who continued their 100 per cent winning start, beating Dowlais 52-16.
