Now in its fifth year, the full day educational event attracted the highest number of delegates to date.

Experts updated medical professionals and practitioners in new advances in sports medicine and injury-prevention practices, particularly in ACL injuries, mental health in sport as well as sessions on management of athletes with unusual or challenging injuries and respiratory health issues in athletes.

Dr Davies said: “We are immensely grateful to Nuffield Health here in Cardiff for kindly sponsoring this event once again. This year we have broadened our horizons to include mental health which was an invaluable addition.

Support from WRU and sponsorship enables the conference to be free of charge to delegates which is to be commended and we hope to continue in this format in future.”
